Windermere River Cruise
It’s something you can’t really not do when it comes to visiting Windermere. So take a walk to the Windemere jetty and board one of the most beautiful boat trips. you can imagine.
While aquariums are available across the country, the Lakes Aquarium continues to attract tourists all year round.
One of the many historic houses in the Lake District, Blackwell House is an example of 19th Century architecture. Along with playing homage to the Arts and Crafts movement.
Lakeland Motor Museum
Motor enthusiasts will just love this popular attraction in Windemere. Featuring classic and antique cars from Aston Martins to Minis. Along with quirky 4 wheeled amphibious machines.
Often over shadowed by the famous Muncaster Castle in the Lake District, Wray Castle is much closer to our spa cottage. The mock-Gothic castle is huge and certainly worth visiting for a day out in Windermere.
Fell Foot Park
Exploring the fells and countryside should be top of any list really and Fell Foot Park is no different. You can easily reach the park by boat, or even hire your own.
World of Beatrix Potter
Beatrix Potter is notorious in the Lake District, hence why a museum dedicated to her favourite characters is a must. In fact Beatrix Potter herself spent many a year in Windermere and the surrounding areas.
As we return our attention to the great outdoors, reaching the view point of Orrest Head is a walk worth taking. The views are incredible and on a clear day you may even spot our spa cottage in Windermere down below.
The Crafty Baa
With so many country pubs and trendy bars in Windermere, it’s hard to list just one. However, the Crafty Baa recently won the coveted Best Pub in England AA Award.
HRiSHi at the Gilpin
While you can always cook your own dinner while enjoying a cottage break in Windermere, still treat yourself to a night out. As for where to eat, HRiSHi is somewhat special, a restaurant that comes with a Michelin Star.
