If you’re lucky enough to be renting our Boutique Cottage in Windermere this coming month, what else have you got planned? Here are 10 things to do in the Lake District this June that may be of interest. Featuring everything from having a beer to knitting a jumper.
1st June to 2nd June – Keswick Beer Festival
You can find good beer and a number of brewery tours all across the Lake District. However drop by Keswick Rugby Club the first weekend in June and sample them all under one tent.
2nd June – Grasmere Gallop
If you prefer something a little more healthy, then take a scenic run across the fells with the Grasmere Gallop. You can join a 10km course or a shorter fun run, alternatively you can always walk the distance instead.
2nd and 3rd June – Country Fest
Celebrate the start of summer at Country Fest in Crooklands. There’s a traditional tug of war, sheepdog trials and motorbike displays. Then of course, there’s plenty of local produce to sample so you won’t return to your spa cottage hungry.
3rd June – Marathon in Coniston
The chances are if you’re planning to take part in the Coniston Marathon you’ve already booked your place. Although that doesn’t mean you can’t still join the fun. You can always enjoy a relaxing boat ride from your Boutique Cottage in Windermere along the water to Coniston. Arriving just in time to see the runners cross the line.
7th June to 13th June – Appleby Horse Fair
If you’re planning to take the car out in the Lake Districts this June, be aware the roads near Appleby will be taken over by our 4 legged friends. This even is run by the travelling community, who are welcomed into the Lake District.
8th June to 10th June – Keswick Mountain Festival
Keswick is only just down the road from Windermere, meaning it’s easy to enjoy festival fun but without having to camp. So while you’re enjoying live music, sporting events and other activities, remember you get to jump into your private hot tub afterwards.
10th June – Greenholme Gala
This small scale agricultural show is perfect if you’re meeting friends and family. Now in its 67th year, entry to the event is a mere £3 for adults and £1 for children.
16th June – Cumberland County Show
The Cumberland Show however is one that farmers across Cumbria highly respect as the pinnacle of county shows. Award winning cattle, trade stands and a huge food hall, there’s definitely enough on to help you stay all day.
22nd June to Saturday 23rd June – Woolfest
This is one for all you craft lovers. Much more than just celebrating the art of knitting, there’s also live music and a proud display of the local sheep.
If you’re not in Cumbria this June, you can always enjoy the comforts of a hot tub in our Windermere Boutique Cottage another time. Book now and get organised for your next spa break in the Lake District.
